Plastic drum and pail manufacturer CDF Corp. of Plymouth, Mass., recently entered into a partnership with packaging suppliers Guala Closures SpA of Alessandria, Italy, and Hosokawa Yoko Co. Ltd. of Tokyo, to create Cheer Pack North America LLC.
The new firm, based in Plymouth, will develop and support spouted packaging technology for North American markets in multilayer laminate gusseted films.
In addition to its 100,000-square-foot heat-sealing, blow molding and thermoforming facility in Plymouth, CDF has invested in a second, 109,000-square-foot facility for Cheer Pack production.
Two of the key brands in this innovative company’s portfolio come in this pouch format. The Cheer Pack pouches and the equipment for filling and capping them come from Cheer Pack North America, a strategic partnership established in 2008 and consisting of Japan’s Hosokawa Yoko, Italy’s Gualapack, and the USA’s CDF Corp.
The pouches being marketed by The Nest Collective are made at a Hosokawa Yoko plant in China. The machinery filling and capping these pouches comes from Gualapack in Italy.
Designed with on-the-go children in mind, Dole Squish’ems! are packed in standup pouches with resealable, safety caps. The pouches are designed for easy one-handed product delivery, which can encourage independent eating by young children.
In June 2008, Dole Packaged Foods Canada launched Squish’ems! The fruit puree is packed in Cheer Pack spouted pouches from CDF Corp. The spout is wide enough to allow the puree to dispense freely, but it is narrow enough to prevent the puree from spilling easily from the package. The pouches also have a resealable cap.
